June 10th. Around were 2 Cuckoo, a Buzzard and 2 Mistle Thrush. On Croftmarsh were 7 Avocet, a Little Ringed Plover and a Mediterranean Gull; and on Tennyson's Sands a Pink-footed Goose, a Pintail, 17 Avocet and 10 Spoonbill. Flying south were 300 Swift, 15 Lapwing, a Great White Egret, 258 Starling, 5 Mistle Thrush and 3 House Martin; and north 15 Sandwich Tern and 4 Gannet. In off the sea then northwest went a probable Honey Buzzard.
A morning ringing session in East Dunes by Keith Collett resulted in 8 new birds: 2 Blue Tit, a Robin, a Chaffinch, a Linnet, a Whitethroat and 2 Starling; and 3 retraps: 2 Blue Tit and a Whitethroat.
At a nest site 4 well-fed, healthy Barn Owl chicks were ringed this morning.

June 9th. Birds around included a Short-eared Owl. On Tennyson's Sands were 13 Avocet; and on Croftmarsh an Avocet. Going south were 5 Swift.
A morning ringing session in East Dunes provided 4 new birds: a Goldfinch, a Linnet, a Reed Bunting and a Dunnock; and 2 retraps: a Reed Bunting and a Whitethroat.

June 7th. A mid morning rainy spell.
Birds around included 2 Cuckoo, a Buzzard and a Short-eared Owl. On Jackson's Marsh were 6 Spoonbill; on Croftmarsh 8 Avocet and a Mediterranean Gull; and on Tennyson's Sands 5 Avocet.
A morning ringing session in East Dunes yielded 5 new birds: a Linnet, a Reed Bunting, a Chaffinch, a Meadow Pipit and a Dunnock; and 5 retraps: a Dunnock, a Sedge Warbler, a Blue Tit, a Meadow Pipit and a Lesser Whitethroat.
June 6th. Around, including birds trapped, were 2 Cuckoo, a Buzzard, a Cetti's Warbler and 2 Bullfinch. On Jackson's Marsh were 4 Spoonbill; on Croftmarsh 9 Avocet; and on Tennyson's Sands 8 Avocet and a Cetti's Warbler. Flying south was a Marsh Harrier.

On Jackson's Marsh were 4 Spoonbill; on Croftmarsh a Pink-footed Goose, 6 Avocet, a Little Gull, a Mediterranean Gull, a Buzzard and a Grey Heron; and on Tennyson's Sands a Pintail, 3 Avocet, 2 Mediterranean Gull and a Cetti's Warbler.

June 4th. The Rose-coloured Starling was around again but very mobile. Around were 2 Cuckoo and 2 Collared Dove. On Jackson's Marsh were 2 Spoonbill; on Croftmarsh 6 Avocet and a Little Gull; and on Tennyson's Sands 13 Avocet and a Cetti's Warbler.

June 3rd. A Rose-coloured Starling came in off the sea then flew north. Birds around included 5 Cuckoo, 5 Sandwich Tern, 3 Little Tern and a Cetti's Warbler. On Jackson's Marsh were 4 Spoonbill; on Croftmarsh 13 Avocet and a Little Gull; and on Tennyson's Sands a Pintail, 3 Avocet, a Mediterranean Gull and 3 Cetti's Warbler. Going north was a Razorbill.

June 2nd. A Bee-eater was around the southern end of East Dunes for a few minutes in the morning. A Marsh Warbler was singing, but not seen, at Sykes Farm. Around were 2 Cuckoo, a Whimbrel, a fledgling Tawny Owl, a Cetti's Warbler, a Firecrest (East Dunes) and 2 Bullfinch. On Jackson's Marsh were 2 Spoonbill; on Croftmarsh 16 Avocet and a Little Gull; and on Tennyson's Sands a Pochard, 8 Avocet, a Mediterranean Gull and 2 Common Tern.
A morning ringing session at Aylmer Avenue, including the fourth session of CES, produced 8 new birds: a Chiffchaff, a Goldcrest, a Willow Warbler, a Robin, 2 Whitethroat and 2 Dunnock; and 18 retraps: 3 Great Tit, a Song Thrush, 2 Blackcap, 2 Chiffchaff, a Chaffinch, 2 Sedge Warbler, 2 Whitethroat, a Robin, a Goldcrest, 2 Wren and a Dunnock.
