Mid January 2020.

Winter Wash Roost Event, 1530-1700, 27th January 2020.

Join our expert guide on a late afternoon walk to take in the sights and sounds of roost movements at this time of year, this can be a magical spectacle to behold, hopefully the weather will be on our side! Eastern Brent Geese and northern Pink-footed Geese will be in evidence, a good selection of waders and an assortment of Pipits will be making their way to favoured areas on the marsh or shore to spend the night. With luck raptors will feature well, prime time for catching the last meal of the day, Hen Harrier and Merlin have been relatively frequent in recent days with the occasional appearance of a Short-eared Owl.

Meet at the Visitor Centre Car Park for 1530, we will then make our way down to position ourselves at the Wash Viewpoint. Wrap up well as temperatures will be dipping late in the day, keep an eye on the forecast as waterproofs may be required.

The walk is free to attend, donations to the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust will be gratefully received.
